The presentation will discuss the concepts of trust and trustworthiness as social phenomena and show how these concepts can be translated to software and system service trustworthiness and users’ trust in such Internet based services. Applying this translation it is shown how trustworthiness can be obtained as an objective measure whereas the users trust is subjectively derived from the service trustworthiness in combination with the current situation of the user.
